Thank you for visiting my site "In His Hands". I am truly humbled and grateful to be able to share my journey with you. God has really "wow-ed" me these past few months and to continually to be "surprised" by Him is a blessing that I am most certainly thankful. I put surprised in quotation marks because I KNOW already that He is good, that He is wonderful, that He is awesome, that He can do anything, that He is THE source of all resources, BUT when I think about how He doesn't have to do anything for me and how I am not worthy I do not take anything that He does lightly. God's grace, God's mercy, God's love, God Himself is a gift to me and although I believe in my heart of hearts that His Word is true when it tells me that He has plans to prosper me  and not to harm me, plans to give me a hope and a future (paraphrased Jeremiah 29:11), knowing these things does not give me right to do whatever it is that I want to do. With that being said, WELCOME to my site! Throughout In His Hands, my prayer is that you connect with what God is doing through me for others, how He's working on me, and what will be birthed from me through our Lord. Keep up with me, read my blogs, and take a peek in my world a.k.a my mind. God loves you and so do I!

Your Sister and Your Friend,

KaSteesha

SPENCER PERKINS CENTER

JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI

Currently, I am serving as the Community and Public Relations Intern with the Spencer Perkins Center (www.thespc.org), a subsidiary of the John M. Perkins Foundation (www.jmpf.org). My start date was September 10th and two weeks later I had the opportunity to attend the Christian Community Development Association conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota. CCDA was co-founded by Dr. Perkins and I am humbled, honored, and privileged to be able to know him and call him Grandpa.

My role here at the SPC is to connect our organization with other groups, people, and organizations. Right now I am in the process of acquiring grants for our After School  and Summer programs. In the past, I served as a tutor in our After School Program to second graders and one third grader. This January my responsibilities/roles shifted due to the transitioning of staff and volunteers here. To keep up with what's going on here you can visit my blog site at http://kcinhishands.wordpress.com.
